And in a way, you kind of can, it just means you have to throw away all the careful human processes that controlled quality and detail and replace them with approximations of whether a model's output is close to "good enough". Then of course there's the impact it's had on the job market. In over 20 years of doing software for a living, I've never felt so insecure in my career choice and so worried about my future. But I have no other marketable experience or skills in any other industry. What I'm good at is software and communication, the two things AI readily does best.
