Getting started with freelancing landing pages and simple static sites
"Sales is the hardest part. And it's not something you learn as a developer."
commentI do this already. First mistake is making landing pages. Landing pages don’t convert or rank well and have low perceived value being just one page. You need to minimum page set. I do 5 pages. Home, about, gallery, reviews, contact, etc. you need to a full site for these small businesses. I don’t sell based on pages either. Some people sell a landing page for X amount, 3 saves or Y amount, and 5 pages for Z amount. You’re negotiating against yourself. People will always try to save the most money and try to justify less pages when it can hurt them. You’re doing the same amount of work for less money. The homepage is the most time consuming page. The rest take no time to make. So you’re just losing money by stripping pages to save money. I have two packages: I have lump sum $3800 minimum for 5 pages and $25 a month hosting and general maintenance or $0 down $175 a month, unlimited edits, 24/7 support, hosting, etc. $100 one time fee per page after 5, blog integration $250 for a custom blog that you can edit yourself. Lump sum can add on the unlimited edits and support for $50 a month + hosting, so $75 a month for hosting and unlimited edits. Most go for subscription. It’s how I make steady consistent income as a freelancer. Currently at $36k a month. Every month. I highly recommend it. For building the sites, I use my template library which I have in my profile. Anyone can use it. It’s the core of my business. I copy and paste html templates we already made and customize them for the new design I have to make. With custom code, I have a unique selling point that separates me from the competition. It allows me to solve more problems for them. And if you aren’t solving problems you aren’t selling very much. That’s the core of sales. If you can’t answer them when they ask what you do that’s better, then you’re not gonna sell a lot. Sales is the hardest part. And it’s not something you learn as a developer. It’s a huge culture shock when skilled developers try to go out on their own and actually have to sell themselves. When people ask me why pay me when they can do it in Wix, I tell them that it comes down to load times, responsiveness, accessibility, security, customization freedom, better designs, and ranks better. Wix sites are slow, and load within 4-6 seconds on average and after 3 seconds you lose half your traffic. My site load in less than a second because I have no bloat or waste in my work. Only what I need and can properly optimize all my images and assets. Our sites load faster convert more visitors into customers because of it. Wix is not very responsive. It only accounts for the basic main breakpoints and often breaks the design on screen sizes between them because it’s a basic builder with little ability for customization. Our sites are 100% responsive for any possible screen sizes now and in the future. For design, Wix sites are basic and look diy. If they want high ticket clients they need to look like they are worth paying for those services. First impressions are everything. If you look cheap or low quality, not as many people will trust you with their money. You need to look the part too and instill trust that you are professional and take yourself seriously. We also know what needs to go on a website to rank and convert. You can’t just put whatever you want. It has to be purposeful. Otherwise you’re just making shit up and wondering why it’s not working. So they CAN do it with Wix. That’s not the issue. The real issue is what value are they getting out of that cheap Wix site versus one made my me who has a proven history of building and structuring high ranking and high converting websites? If they want their website to be made with purpose and intent to rank, load faster, and perform, then they go with me. If they just need something up to show they exist and save money, do it with Wix until they can afford someone like me to do it right.

Generate an investment memoWhat this score means
This idea scores in the upper-middle range of opportunities surfaced by MonetScope, with a validation sub-score of 7/10 against 3 independently sourced evidence signals. A "promising" rating usually indicates a real pain has been detected and discussed in the open, but the pipeline did not find enough signal to flag it as urgent or high-frequency. These opportunities can still produce excellent businesses — they often correspond to "boring" problems that established players have ignored — but the founder should expect a longer customer-development cycle to confirm willingness to pay.
Why this matters for Other founders
It sits at the intersection of "beginner-guide", "digital-product", "freelancers", which makes it relevant to a specific subset of founders rather than a generic horizontal opportunity. Opportunities in this category typically reward founders who can describe the pain in the user's own language — both because that's the basis of effective marketing, and because it's the strongest signal that the founder has done the upfront listening. The MonetScope pipeline surfaces this category alongside other other signals, which is why it appears here rather than in a generic "trending ideas" feed.

Frequently asked questions
Is "FreelanceLaunch: Client-First Web Development Starter Kit" a real validated startup idea or just an AI-generated suggestion?
MonetScope does not generate ideas from a language model's imagination. Every opportunity on this site is anchored to specific source posts and comments from real public discussions — typically on Reddit, Hacker News, or X — where actual users describe the pain in their own words. The AI's role is structuring, scoring, and grouping those signals into a navigable opportunity, not inventing the problem.
How recent is the underlying data for beginner-guide?
MonetScope's spider pipeline runs continuously and surfaces opportunities as new evidence accumulates. The "Updated" date in the header reflects the most recent re-scoring of this specific opportunity. Most other opportunities visible in the public catalog draw from discussions in the last 30-60 days; older signals are de-prioritized because user pain shifts faster than most founders assume.
What's the difference between "overall score" and "validation score"?
Overall score is a composite across six dimensions — pain, urgency, willingness to pay, market size, defensibility, and execution ease — designed to give a single number for triage. Validation score is narrower: it asks "how cleanly does the same signal repeat across independent sources?" An opportunity can score high on overall but lower on validation when one or two large discussions dominate the evidence; conversely, validation can be high on a smaller-overall idea where the signal is consistent but the addressable market is modest.
