I really like the idea of using friction instead of just blocking the app. The ignore limit problem is exactly why a lot of blockers end up being useless for me too. If the action is still one tap away, muscle memory usually wins. I think the challenge approach is interesting because it adds just enough time to make you actually think about whether you want to open the app. The one thing I'd be curious about is whether people eventually start treating the challenge itself as another button to get through. If the challenge becomes too predictable, I imagine the friction could disappear over time. Really interesting concept though. I’d be curious to see how people’s usage changes after a few weeks rather than just the first few days.
