They come into high school reading at 2nd grade and they're supposed to pass state testing at grade level? Insane. There need to be other productive options for at least 20% of kids, and we need to celebrate when they succeed at THOSE OPTIONS instead of forcing everyone to try to meet the expectation of attending a competitive 4 year college.
