If you drop the real-time constraint, “many phones, one shared output” gets a lot more buildable, and the QR-code join means zero friction getting people into the pool in the first place. In my case, using a wedding event as an example, I was thinking more of capturing the event in as many angles courtesy of the guests rather than just depending on the angles taken by the photographer/drone. It's all about telling a story from different perspectives. Is the 360° part mainly about the immersive angle, or more about coverage, never missing a moment because someone’s phone caught it? All the best.

commentI think a version of this could be useful. Not as a 360 cam per se, but as a multi-angle cam in general. I can imagine weddings, graduations, concerts, and events where multiple people are filming the same thing from different phones. But instead of having the friction of needing the app on their phones before or after the recording to make it work - they just upload videos to your platform, and then it syncs the videos and displays a timeline where the user can create a a new video by cutting between the sources. Then they export the video and share the result. A secondary feature could be that you host the vidoes and users can view the event and choose to change angles/sources on the fly. (I say host it yourself because I don't know of any exist platform that can do this natively, but one might exist.) If it were me, I'd go super niche and make it a wedding or graduation specifc app/platform because those people would pay to have curated videos of those important events. Weddings might be the best best because you can sell/market to wedding planners, videographers, etc, who already have the end customer you want. And for videographers specifically, who might already do a version of this with their own cameras, or videos received from wedding guests, your app/platfrom could save them time in producing such a video - which they would likely be glad to pay for.
