Took me three years to finish mine, so umm. I'm probably not in the position to give you good advice, but don't be too hard on yourself. This big project, sort of open ended deadline is the worst case scenario for us. I would say I'm highly functioning ADHD. I'm procrastinating as hell, but I'm productive whenever I manage to start and I was really good at judging the last possible point in time to start working sop I could finish the task in time and at an acceptable level. As long as I had a fixed timeline (finishing the thesis in a semester) everything was great, but then I didn't get some data and had to replan the whole thesis, making it impossbile to finish in time and then my brain was like "OK, if we don't finish in time anyway, then it doesn't matter when we do". If you're something like me, then creating a timeline is the most important part. Not sure if it's enough for you to set your own timelines for yourself, or if you need external pressure. You could always email your advisor certain dates you will send in the next chapter, cleaned data sets, etc. Explaining it to your advisor shouldn't be that much of a problem, no? I would expect a advisor for a psych master thesis to understand the problem at hand.
